College announces Hearing Committee Decision regarding
Dr. Stani Osif of Sydney Mines
Halifax, January 24, 2008 -- A
Hearing Committee of the College of Physicians and
Surgeons of Nova Scotia has determined that Dr. Stani
Osif, a family physician from Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia,
is guilty of certain charges relating to a disciplinary
matter that constitute professional misconduct and
professional incompetence pursuant to Section 66(2)(e)
of the Nova Scotia Medical Act.
The Committee will reconvene to consider submissions
from counsel for Dr. Osif and the College before determining
a penalty. A date for this Hearing has not been set.
Dr. Osif is not currently licensed to practice medicine
in Nova Scotia, following a license suspension that
was announced on June 4, 2007. This notice is available
